Cultivating Unity

Quoting from Mohandas Gandhi, “An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind.” It is so vitally important that we forgive each other and that we cultivate unity with our fellow men. If we as humans strike back when somebody does something to us, it makes both people in the situation blind. And unless one of us backs out of the situation then there is no hope for overcoming the darkness that blinds us.

Again quoting Gandhi, “Live as if you were to die tomorrow, learn as if you were to live forever.” Don’t be stuck in your track by not being open and honest with someone, you never know where it will lead your relationship with them. Be honest and truthful in your dealings with you fellow men. Be happy for what you have been given and rejoice in the fact that you are still given much in life. A friendship starts out like a rosebud if planted and taken care of correctly it will make beautiful roses.

Be a solution in any miscommunication not another equation to overcome. Using Stephen Covey’s theory of the emotional bank account. Don’t be a withdrawal in your relationships but rather than a deposit into their emotional bank account. Be that positive effect and strive to be that deposit that can make your relationship with others even better.

Quote of the week by Elder Joseph B Wirthlin: “Seek for the internal you may feel singled out when adversity enters your life, you may shake your head and wonder why me, but the dial on the wheel of sorrow eventual points to each of us. At one time or another ever must experience sorrow no one is exempt…..Learning to endure times of disappointment, and suffering and sorrow is part of the on the job training these experience while often difficult to bear at the time are precisely the kinds of experiences that stretch our understanding, build our character and increase our compassion for others.”

Life is so crazy!!!

Okay so life is way crazy, I keep going day by day saying to myself can life get any worse. Then after looking at it from a religious perspective I think honestly can life get any better. For Heavenly Father only gives us the challenges we can face and overcome, and he always gives some way to overcome them. I really am grateful that he has given me the wonderful scriptures it seems like I keep reading things that help or apply to me every day. Especially when I really need them; now don’t get me wrong, I have read them through quite a few times but somehow this time around everything is applying to my life. Quoting a song from Selena really explains how I feel about the lord, it goes something like this:

Seconds into life, I felt love inside, I can't explain. The memories recall your smiles. That day I had my first kiss, You know I couldn't wish, for a better beginning, a better start to life And I want to know, I want to know Who blessed me with time, to have you in my life. I opened my eyes, for the very first time. And you were there, you, were, thereLest we forget, how Fortunate I was born into a world, of freedom and light Let the road examine, I look back at you my friends And think about what a blessed life Cause you were there to hold my hand You were there to sing me grace So who blessed me with time, to have you in my lifeI opened my eyes, for the very first time. Who blessed me with time, to have you in my lifeI opened my eyes for the very first time Cause you were there to hold my handY ou were there to sing me grace You were there to see me cryin' You were there to wipe the tears away Cause you were there to hold my hand You were there to sing me grace You were there to see me cryin' You were there to wipe the tears away So who blessed me with time, to have you in my life I opened my eyes, for the very first time Who blessed me with time, to have you in my lifeI opened my eyes, for the very first timeAnd you were there, You, Were, There

I know that the our Heavenly Father is there for everything that we go through and I truly believe with all my heart that he is there for us. He is there for everything, we might not be able to see him, or feel him all the time but he is there. Whatever you go through in your life don’t forget that someone cares about you. Don’t let someone hurt you enough to make yourself not see what you are worth. We are all worth so much in Heavenly Fathers eyes. Never forget who you are.

Culture

Culture is it really that big of a difference, is there ways to overcome our lifestyles and take in the aspects of another. Your culture makes you who you are but learning another culture can effect what you will become. It can enrich your mind and in change maybe helping you seek your future. Mahatma Gandhi says, “No culture can live, if it attempts to be exclusive.” I think culture is something that people need to over come, because if you are able to put your culture aside and really look at another person you can see a whole new way to life. Life is not just black and white it is full of all other colors too, and we need to truly identify those colors for all the aspects they consist of.

Friends

So today I am posting two thoughts for the fact that I have not been online in a while. This is for many of my family and friends to thank them for the effect they have had in my life. Helping me be the person I am today thank you for your wonderful examples. Using an inspiration that one of my friends gave me I would like to share a poem I wrote:

Friendship Has No Cost Or Mission:

What is the measure of a true friend,
can you define the name.
For only you that finds the meaning,
her glory will remain.
A friendship has a heart that sores,
the eagle flying will remain.
I hope you measure the true friend,
that I find in store.

-Kira Albarez

Enjoy this wonderful and bright time in life and thank you for who you are.

Times of life!

So many things in life happen so fast, why the need for current change; how are we better people because of things we go through. Are we accomplishing our goals in our life? Do we have a driven purpose to where we want are our life to go? Are we ready for a change in our life that is not wanted or expected? Some of our unexpected changes in our life is for our benefit and help us accomplish our goals. While conteplating that think of this story:

This Moment:
I may never see tomorrow,
there in no written guarentee.
And things that happened yesterday,
belong to history.

I cannot predict the future,
I cannot change the past.
I have just the present moment,
I must treat it as my last.

I must use this moment wisely,
for it soon will pass away.
And be lost to me forever,
as part of yesturday.

I must exercise compassion,
help the fallen to their feet.
Be a friend unto the friendless,
make an empty life complete.

The unkind things I do today,
may never be undone.
And friendship that I fail to win,
may never more be won.

I may not have another chance
on bended knees to pray.
And thank God with humble heart,
for giving me this day.

-Unknown

WE have to live this moment no matter what will change, for we never know what we will get for tomorrow, with out living in tomorrows yesturday. Take this moment and use it very wisely for it will make the differnece in your life, in you goals and in your future. Dont be afraid change for it made you who you are today!!!

The wonderful thing called life!!!

Over the past few weeks it has been crazy busy. Now that I have the time to post another blog I thought I should mention my thoughts that are awing me right now. The Lord is truly amazing and he brings people into our lives and the right time for us. One of my very dear friend has been going through a similar situation as me, we have been able to talk about it and it has been a real strength in helping me through the situation. I am also grateful for my Aunt Annie, she is one of the most compassionate person I know. My mother passed away when I was 14 years old, and she has been the most influencing person in my life and stepped up a lot more when my mother passed. I love her more than she will ever know, and just as much grateful. I am also very impressed by my grandmothers and the wonderful examples they are in my life.
Right now my grandmothers are going through there far share of their struggles and they are really showing my that my troubles really don' t mount to any small pile of struggles then others go through. I think of the saying that says if live were not easy it would not be hard, by Sherrie Dew. I also think of the scripture that states, "I never said it would be easy I only said it would be worth it." We all have so many struggles in our lives, but we have to have faith to rise above them and make our weakness our strength. And when we do that we can truly make ourselves more happy. Ending my post today I want to quote one of my favorite poems it is called the monument by Blaine M. Yorgason:

God, before he sent his children into the world,

gave each of them a carefully selected package of problems.

"These, "He promised smiling, "are yours alone.

Only you have the special talents and abilities

that will make these problems your servants,

and no one else may have the blessing these problems will bring you."

"So, go down to your birth, and to your forgetting.

Know that I love you beyond measure.

The problems I give you are a token of my love."

"The monument you make of your life,

with the help of your problems,

will be a token of your love for me."

Your Father

What is the monument that you are going to make out of you life and more importantly what is the monument that you are going to make for our Father in Heaven. I love you all may you have a very wonderful day.

Wowing Your Customer

Thank you to my co-worker Allyson how gave me this inspirational thought today from http://refresher.com/wowyourcustomers/?p=43 1001 ways to wow your customer.

Think ‘Purpose’ Not ‘Function’
January 3rd, 2008
"The front-desk’s purpose is not to check people in. That’s its function. The purpose is to welcome the customer."
"Purpose is too often ignored in favor of function. Functional competence can be commoditized – you’re just as good at checking people in (or whatever the process is) as your competitor."
"But, purpose is something that frees people up to contribute with imagination and even passion. You can’t impose a purpose, though. Leaders set the purpose of an organization. But, employees make the decision to buy into it. So it’s a compact or agreement rather than simply following instructions or fulfilling a function."
Theo Gilbert-Jamison, V-P. Training & Organizational Effectiveness, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company
The Purpose of a HousekeeperThis is what happens when, say, a hotel housekeeper, sees her purpose as ‘enlivening the senses’ (the Ritz-Carlton purpose) rather than simply clearing up a room. It’s a story I heard Tom Peters tell:
A customer wrote to the Ritz-Carlton expressing his astonishment at the behavior of the housekeeper during a stay in New York with his wife and daughter. After a day sight-seeing in the city, they returned to their room, only for the daughter to complain that her teddy bear was missing.
After a quick search, they found it hidden in the towel cupboard, with a foil-wrapped chocolate clasped in its paws. The next day, the bear had disappeared again; the daughter found it under the bed with another chocolate in its paws.
At the end of each day, for the duration of their stay, the daughter couldn’t wait to get back to the room to play ‘find the teddy’ with a housekeeping maid she never actually met. "It was the best part of her stay," wrote the customer.
What can you do to help bring your organization’s purpose to life in 2008, so your people deliver an exceptional customer experience like this housekeeper did?

I thought that this quote was very inpirational not just in the business atmosphere but in our own lives. We are given gift and what do we do to share those gifts to others. I really hope that I can share my gifts to others but also more importantly be able see and utilize others gift and really be appreciative for those gifts.

I will probably be posting another posting today so check back later, have a very wonderful. Remember who you are and what you stand for. Love you all!!!!

New Years Resolutions

As I was thinking about New Years resolution that people usually make this time of year I thought how interesting it is that people always think about themselves and things that they do that are not uplifting when they make resolutions.

President George Q. Cannon says, "Now this is the truth. We humble People, we who feel ourselves sometimes so worthless, so good for nothing; we are not so worthless as we think. There is not one of us but what God's love has been expanded upon. There is not one of us that he has not cared for and caressed. There is not one of us that he has not desired to save and that he has not devised to save. There is not one of us that he has not given his angels charge concerning. We may be insignificant and contemptible in our own eyes and in the eyes of others, but the truth remains that we are the children of God and that he has actually given his angels, invisible being of power and mighty charge concerning us, and have us in their keeping."

The reason that I thought of this quote is because if we are making new years resolution to make changes because we think that we are not good people or excepted by someone else then we should rethink our resolutions. Our Father in Heaven does not care what we look like, our external appearances are not important in his eyes what is important is what and who we are on the inside that matters. If there is one thing I could say to all of my friends is that I love them for who they internally not because of who they are externally. One thing that I think that we all need to think about at this time of year is a poem titled Judge Gently.

The poem states:
Pray, don’t find fault with the man that limps or stumbles along the road. Unless you have worn the shoes he wears or struggled beneath his load. There may be tacks in his shoes that hurt though hidden away from view. Or the burden he bears placed on your back might cause you to stumble too. Don’t sneer at the man who’s down today unless you have felt the blow. That caused his fall or felt the shame that only the fallen know. You may be strong but still the blows that were his if dealt to you. In the selfsame way, at the selfsame time might cause you to stagger too. Don’t be to harsh with the man that sins or pelt him with words or stone. Unless you are sure-yea doubly sure-that you have no sins of your own. For you, perhaps, if the tempters voice should whisper as softly to you as it did to him when he went astray it might cause you to falter too.

Your New Years resolution might be different then what I am righting about but what I hope and pray is that you think of the gifts that you were given and that you can utilize those gifts and really show them to the world. Don’t worry about your faults don’t worry about other people faults just be the amazing person that I know you are inside. I love you all and happy new years.
